Mike Karns Marathon Digital Broadway

Mike Karns

Founder and CEO

Mike Karns is a Tony-nominated theater producer and entrepreneur. Karns is the Founder and CEO of Marathon Digital, a new force in the digital marketing space representing prominent influencers and revolutionary brands on Broadway and beyond. As a producer, Karns has been represented on Broadway productions of The Great Comet (Co-Producer) and Allegiance (Co-Producer), with strategic investments in The Cher Show, Mean Girls, It's Only A Play, and Kinky Boots. His newest musical, Lempicka, received its World Premiere at the Williamstown Theatre Festival this summer directed by Tony nominee Rachel Chavkin and starring Tony nominee Carmen Cusack and Eden Espinosa. He is an active associate member of The Broadway League and serves on the Spring Road Conference planning committee.

During his early years, he played a key role in the meteoric resurgence of George Takei, who today is frequently referred to as one of the most popular personalities on social media. Mike's work has been featured in Forbes, Wired Magazine, Newsday, and on his parents' fridge. Other credits and collaborators include The Public Theater, The Vineyard, The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards, and The Santa Fe Opera. Mike is an active member of the Penn State Alumni Association, the largest dues paying Alumni Association in the world. He serves as the President of the School of Theatre Alumni Programs Group. In 2016, he received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the Penn State Alumni Association, and in 2017 he received the prestigious Alumni Achievement Award from the University.

Melanie Parker

Melanie Parker

Associate Director of Account Services

Melanie has been a part of the team for two years. She previously worked on accounts including NBC's Biggest Loser, Good Housekeeping and USA BMX. Most recently she managed social media and online partnerships for NewYork.com, a Broadway and travel website.

She has experience with social strategy, content creation, campaign execution and community management. You can almost always find her within 5 inches of her phone listening to country music. She's excited to join the team!

Notable: Won the computer award in 4th grade.

Micayla Brewster

Account Manager

Micayla is a former Marathon Digital intern who came on full time in August 2017. During her undergraduate career at Azusa Pacific University, she gained work experience at Paramount Pictures, a media startup called theSkimm, and through freelance social media marketing projects.

She's fiercely passionate about innovative social media marketing campaigns and loves being able to implement them in an industry as creative as Broadway. As a California-native turned New Yorker, she is the proud owner of her first winter coat.

Nye Caple

Account Coordinator

Nye is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, where she majored in Business Management, and minored in Economics. She has experience in social media marketing, content managing, and editing. Theater and digital marketing have been interests of hers for a long time, so she is thrilled to join the Marathon Digital team and turn these two passions into a career!

Ava Coploff

Account Manager

Ava is excited to have joined the Marathon Digital team in May of 2018! She has experience in social media, marketing, and advertising for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Ava is passionate about using social media to promote theater in new and exciting ways.

If she's not out seeing theater, Ava is likely binge watching a new TV show or traveling. An avid traveler, Ava has been to many countries and even did a Semester at Sea in college.

Kerri DeLisi

Graphic Designer

Kerri is a recent graduate of Adelphi University where she majored in graphic design. At Adelphi, she worked as both a designer for the Performing Arts Center and an account manager for the library. As a former Marathon Digital intern, she is extremely excited to be joining the team full time! More importantly, in second grade, she won an award for bowling over a 125 on her Saturday morning junior league.

Sammy Lopez

Account Manager

Sammy is pumped to join the Marathon team after spending time in L.A. developing the social media strategy for Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum, the Ahmanson Theatre, the Kirk Douglas Theatre, in addition to the Chicano activist/performer Dan Guerrero. He is currently a co-producer on Broadway's BE MORE CHILL and developing the new musicals GUN AND POWDER, HOW TO DANCE IN OHIO, and BRADICAL with his production Holtzman-Lopez Productions. Previously, he was the Associate Producer for BANDSTAND as well as a recipient of the 2017 Rising Star Fellowship with The Broadway League. He has also worked on social media campaigns with Tom Smedes Productions, Your Theatrics International, The Pekoe Group, and The New York Musical Festival (NYMF). Sammy is a proud graduate of Syracuse University's School of Drama and a supporter of CO/LAB Theater Group, offering individuals with developmental disabilities a creative and social outlet through theater.

Notable: The Golden Hammer, for building the set for his community theatre production of Beauty and the Beast

Nathan McMonigle

Junior Graphics and Animation Designer

Nathan is Marathon Digital's Junior Graphics and Animation Designer. He came aboard in October 2019 after working with the team as a freelancer.

A Midwesterner, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2017 with a BFA in Film and Animation Production. Since then, he's worked with companies like Kohl's, Petco, and Oath as a graphic designer and video content creator.

Outside of work, he is a full-time dog dad to his Pomston, Scout. His hobbies include walking Scout, snuggling Scout, and watching cartoons with Scout.

Notable: Most Loyal Customer (from Burger King), #1 Dad (from Scout), Handsomest Young Man (from his grandma).

Chris Morrissey

Creative Manager

Chris Morrissey is an unabashed theater nerd with a passion for connecting audiences with stories that entertain, inspire and empower. Chris is energized by creating captivating content that catalyzes conversations and cultivates communities across social platforms.

Previous to joining Marathon Dgtl, Chris served as the Manager of Events & Strategic Partnerships for Tony Award-winning producer Ken Davenport. During his time at Davenport Theatrical, Chris contributed to major marketing initiatives and campaigns for a variety of shows and enterprises including Once On This Island, Gettin' The Band Back Together, Macbeth starring Alan Cumming, The Producer's Perspective, Did He Like It, among others.

Chris oversaw creative ideation, partners and sponsors, venue, budget and staffing for events including the first-ever Producer's Perspective Super Conference, Tony Award and SRC celebrations for Once On This Island, opening night of Gettin' The Band Back Together, numerous seminars (online and off), and additional industry socials.

Chris is a graduate for the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where he earned the Lehman Engel Award for Outstanding Leadership and a certification in Public Relations from the McMicken College of Arts and Sciences.

When not in the office, he directs and produces the work of new writers or seldom produced artists.

Honorable: Completed a 26 mile ocean kayaking trek in the Outer Banks. (That's where they film Shark Week, y'all!)

Max Reed

Senior Video Producer

Max is the Senior Video Producer at Marathon Digital. He’s a Miami-native born and raised who moved to NYC in 2017 to pursue a career in experiential marketing and digital branding. Max studied photojournalism at the University of Florida and worked as a visual journalist for clients like the Miami Herald and New York Times. For the last 6 years he’s worked as a photo director for a digital marketing firm and lead videographer in experiential marketing. He’s worked as a motion graphic design, videographer and editor with clients like Facebook, HBO, Discovery, Audio Tiffany & Co., Under Armour and Beautiful Destinations. In his free time Max enjoys boxing, soccer, travel and adventure; and has visited about 30 countries from New Zealand to Cuba, Bali, Morocco and Singapore. Fun facts: hiked 200 miles on the John Muir Trail, flew 500 miles RT in an open aircraft from Taos NM to the Great Sand Dunes in CO and dove in the Great Barrier Reef. Life goals: film a feature length documentary, get a pilots license, climb Kilimanjaro, visit Everest basecamp and all 7 continents (1 more to go!).

Erin Reed

Account Coordinator

As a former Marathon intern and contractor, Erin is so grateful to be joining the team full-time! She is a Kentucky-native and University of Kentucky Arts Administration grad (Go Cats!) who spent lots of time during her college years managing social media for several incredible Lexington arts organizations.

When she is not social media-ing, you can usually find Erin singing, writing, or spending time at church. As a grown-up theatre kid, getting to work in this industry is an absolute dream come true, and she is excited for all the adventures that lie ahead!

Notable: Valedictorian of her 1st grade homeschool class.
